Once its done, you can load it just like a regular firmware update.

Dear William
Thank you very much for your reply.
What would it take for you to do the patch and if you do it, how can I load it to my radio?
Sinceely
Igal

Hi,
You can not easily do this.
Because your device is limited to loading just the USA version it will reject the Euro version.
I doubt there is a hardware difference though. Most FM chips can do all regions which means its just a bit in some routine that is set or not.
I have the latest firmware of both models and I can probably make a patched version.
BR,
William

CIR 2000 has two models A (for America) and E (for Europe). The main difference between them is the FM radio frequency steps. (50 KHz for E and 200 KHz odd for A). Does anyone knows if you can switch from the A model to the E model by changing the firmware? (I was told by Cobra that I can't do it but it is hard for me to beleive that the hardware is not the same so there should be a way to change it by firmware.)
