Of course you can add missing stations to the database yourself. However, if you are missing a station and you dont have enough details to put it in the database the report it here.

We will look for solutions and try to add it.

Hi,
It looks like Kiis is not available when you are outside the USA. At least not when you are trying the links on their website from Europe where I am located.
There are doing IP checking to determine your location. There might be ways around this using a proxy or so. I will check it out.

Yes, I noticed that. Some days it's working, some days not... But even when it works I can't get the stream direct link... this might be the trick to overcome the restriction...
Thanks for your time. this is such a cool station, I'm always on it when traveling in LA, but this is unfortunately not so often !

I am desperately trying to get CBC Radio 1 Toronto working.  I have added the station to world station and also here, but it is not working.  It worked about 6 months ago and then stopped and i havent been able to get it back.  It is listed several times in the radio station list (North America/Ontario)  Could someone please check this for me?  Here is the url for the stream:

http://www.cbc.ca/video/radio-popup.html#/networkKey=cbc_radio_one&programKey=toronto

Thank you for the help!

Hi William,

A couple stations that I normally listen are not working, broken links.  should I list them here or can you give me edit rights so I can go in and update them?

Thanks.

You have edit rights.. Let me know when you have problems.
Also, if there are a lot of stations and you have the details in a text file or so then I can do a batch update..

Enjoy,
William

First of all can I thank those that worked on the firmware upgrade on the Xenta KMP510 worked perfectly for me, I upgraded mine 10 minutes after unpacking it.

However, I cannot find my favourite internet radio station (181.FM The Eagle) for classic rock despite searching on the device for a good long while. I can find it on the radio station database on this website and I have submited the radio details again to the database with a feed I know is up and running.

I hope this station will show up on my Xenta radio alarm clock soon.

Kind Regards

- Tentux.

I can't seem to get Riviera Radio (from Monaco) working on any of the 3 streams offered. The 128k M3U stream plays fine from the website on my PC, so I'm not sure if the details going to the radio are correct.

Also, Riviera is down as 106.3 on one of the streams, which should actually be 106.5

Nice to listen to on the wind up to my summer holidays on the French Riviera

I renamed the 106.3 into RR "106.5 FM" this one works on the penbex but not the SkyTC models.. clearly something that needs to be fixed in the firmware.
I also renamed the m3u stream to RR "106.5FM"(no space between the 5 and the F) and this one works fine on my Evivio.
I will check the 3rd stream now..

Ok, other streams have issues with the firmware. I am pushing SkyTC to fix these things as soon as possible. More news about this soon...

I'm using the Xenta KMP510. Cracking little unit.

106.5FM isn't working for me, neither is the PLS stream. The other 64k stream is playing on the Xenta though. Thanks for your super quick work! I'd be more than happen to tinker with dodgy streams myself if you'd like. Even just filling some of the extra info for the website, it all helps towards making things better for the community.

Cheers, I'll do my best to make things super-awesome

EDIT: Will you be adding more options to the stream type (WMA, MP3 etc) and the bitrate lists, as, for example, BBC One is a WMV stream at 1.06Mbps, neither of which are an option. I've updated the Sky News 3min Bulletin channel, hope thats all OK for you.

Excellent mate. I shall hold off until you've done that so I can do all the work needed on each stream in one go then.

On another note, and this may be worth a quick poll of users, how should some stations be defined?

Let me explain:

Sky News 3min Bulletin - its supplied by a TV station in the UK. However, its not the live Sky News channel, its a looping video, so does that class it as On Demand, or a Podcast, or Internet Only as its not a 'real' TV channel? I'm just wondering if streams such as this should be classified in one of the following ways:

TV > Internet Only (as you can't watch this stream anywhere else) > News

... or ...

TV > Europe > UK (and be strictly tagged as On Demand first under Genre, as it is from a UK broadcaster, but not a live channel)

This all stems from me selecting it expecting to get the live channel on my KMP510 but just getting the looping bulletin. I'd be interested to know what other peoples thoughts are on this type of stream and how to classify it. Although if no one else is bothered I'll just go sit in a corner and keep quiet.

I have modified the stream types to:
MP4 (MPEG4 / F4V)
WMV (Win Media)
RM (Real Media)
FLV (Adobe)
MOV (Apple Quicktime)

The bitrates are gone for now.. too many values and no real need for it on the player side.
Just a bandwidth issue I guess. Need to take a closer look at this.

Showing WMA not WMV in the TV station options

EDIT: Showing WMV now, thanks. If you notice I'm removing some BBC streams from the UK channels, its because they are links to old old single programs. One was Click back from when it was on News 24, which hasn't been called that for quite a while! BBC One & BBC Two 'pimped' now though.

What would be good would be finding the online streams for the other localized BBC One streams. The one on the site is for the North West. Anyone any hints as to how to find the rest of them?

Hi There. CBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 Toronto went down again, looks like they may have changed the stream. I sent you an email with the problem: This link seems to work in my browser but not on my Centrios.

http://www.cbc.ca/video/radio-popup.html#/networkKey=cbc_radio_one&programKey=toronto

I have also tried to edit the link on listenlive.nl.  For some reason, I cannot get the station to play.  I keep getting the Data Process Error (11).   There is an identical station (but without the local news we are looking for) – CBC Radio 1 Sudbury.  That link works for some reason.  Here are the links:

http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/pls/CBC_R1_SUD_H.pls    (WORKING)

http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/pls/CBC_R1_TOR_H.pls   (NOT WORKING)

CBC Radio 2 Toronto is also not working, here is the link for that one:

http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/pls/CBC_R2_TOR_H.pls

Also can't get it to work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Sam

Currently the modified firmware is a really simple modification so that you can use a more up-to-date database which allows you to make changes and add new stations (compared to the Chinese database that is updated once or twice a year and lacks many stations).

The new firmware that is currently being developed is supposed to support more stream types and those that are not working with the first release will be added quickly.
This firmware is community driven so I will implement whatever we as a community want.
Of course the most requested features will be added first but whatever you want in it and is doable for me will be included.

BR,
William

well, does ''missing stations'' mean totally missing in the database, or
being in the database, and missing because it simply does not play?

and: adding to the database: Deutsche Welle TV (DWTW Deutsch)
has not been playing on any machine for the past +/- three weeks, even
confirmed by the DW help desk in bonn, but adding on the XOROs
browse_list.txt this addrs ...

... works fine. this being my first day, i carefully tried to add it to your
database too, but in PRIVATE mode initially for my own favorites - but
am told it is being 'reviewed' (when and how long, usually) , so dont
know if it does work for all (or most) of you - hope it will.

it is very often overloaded, and takes ages to log in, so friday evening
might not be the best day to try out - but it does work.

re my post just before: somebody has to help me.

DWTV plays fine with the given addrs in XOROs user list, but
does NOT connect when tried on an ARNOVA and listed in the

what am i doing wrong here?

Not in the database.. Because if it is in the database and does not play, the URL should be corrected.
If you want to be able to make modifications I can change your account into a moderator account.

Nothing wrong on your side. The arnova player is broken. They screwed up support for various stream types.
This will be fixed with the new firmware. Most likely released next weekend (dont pin me down on it )

 >> If you want to be able to make modifications I can change your account into a moderator account

would like that, but would need some handholding in the beginning. there are thousands of stations

out there that do not play, and getting only complaints also does not help - somebody has to do something.

 - - http://www.metafilegenerator.de/DWelle/tv-europa/wmv/tv_mb_m.asx

 >> I have modifed the entry and it is available now. I also kept the non-working entry until we know whats wrong

where please have you modfied it? neither the one in the public database nor the one in my favorites plays,

and it did well enough with FW1.7 (arnova) three weeks ago. the world is going backwards?

 >> The arnova player is broken. They screwed up support for various stream types

basically believe you, but why did so many stations work on the factory 1.7 that dont seem to work on the

patched 1.85p? the list is long ...

greetings     - heinz -

PS: and why, when i write here, is there always a blank empty line between all my lines?

PPS: are there user settings for the forum as such? for example, in the forum overview and

listing the newest post is always on top, when i go to individual posting, the oldest one is

on top, for the newest one one has to scroll down to the bottom. each user likes his own,

but newest on top makes a lot more sense.

That is exactly the problem. The 1.7 firmware did handle more stream types. But in that one Shoutcast is broken.
The 1.85 was created later and has Shoutcast fixed. But they seem to have broken at least parts of .asx support.
As a result it appears that many streams do not work. But in fact a big part of them is working fine.
Some indeed do not work at all because the URL's are no longer correct.
I sued to keep this fairly good up-to-date but do not have much time for it since I spend most of my time on writing the new firmware.

Luckily the new firmware plays more streams than any of the official versions. Even RTMP and OGG were working when I last checked.

More soon..

i was talking of the patched version v1.85p - not to misunderstand.

many times in the forum it is mentioned, if an update does not work as planned,
'' ... you can always go back to the old version ... ''.  so for the time being, for many
users who simply need to listen and watch basic stations, v1.7 might be better
(naturally, untill you v2.00 come out) - but where can one find v1.7X? it is NOT
in you download storage under ORIGINAL FWs, where i had expected to see it.
alternatives?
