Topic: Audacy owned stations in US changed their stream URL

Anthony,
I have checked the audio streams of the radio stations which you listed within your request.

All of it are still correct and are still in use by the provider.
The actual change is the stream availability via secure protocol (HTTPS) only now.
I know that my XORO radio device is not able to handle secure streams.
It may be your Vistaquest machine has the same problem.

I hope that William is able to clarify this.

Sorry!

Hello:

These radio stations streams are available on the Listenlive website but I am having trouble receiving them on my Vistaquest VQ-ITR 100 radio: WCBS 880, WMJX 106.7, WTIC 1080, Fox News Talk Radio.

Displaying a corrupt-looking player is almost certainly the result of improper access to an audio stream.
We should not change anything on the player at the moment.

If Anthony can confirm that the six changed stations don't work on ListenLive powered radios in the US, then I have currently no idea.

Thanks for that!
I will collect some experience and than I will inform you.

Hi Anthony,
that's a behavior I recognized last Friday the first time.
Some times the audio player looks normal and as follows, and it works:
But some times the audio player symbol looks strange, and it does not work:
And that may be the same radio station as before after a small excursion.
I think it is a case for an specialist - definitely not me. Sorry!

The webpage makes use of a standard jplayer (open source javascript library) implementation..
Obviously it has a difficulty with the non-working stream and then fails to draw the buttons correctly.
It is rather old but there is no newer version.

Timje to replace jplayer I guess.. I added a new player. But for now only on the edit screen.
For now it is additional to the old jplayer until we have had time to fully test it (meaning you will see both until tests are done).
Quick test shows it does not change the appearance if a stream does not work and also it plays some newer stream types (aac) better..
Lets see how that goes.

Hallo Anthony,

for the browser audio player problem is required support by Mr. Penbex.
Does your information mean, that the listed radio stations currently do also not work with an ListenLive driven radio receiver?

Hello Nobi:

I just checked the radio stations you mentioned (WFAN,WEEI,WTIC,WCBS,WINS, KCBS-FM) and unfortunately none of them are working. Also on the database the no sound error I mentioned occurs on all stations in the database as of now.

Hi Nobi:

That's probably among some of the oddities of the the software that it acts like this, similar to the issue with IHeart owned stations working at times and then not working. Since I bought my first radio using the Listenlive software in 2015, there have been quite a few changes in streaming URL's, especially here in the US. So it seems to be that it's new technology (streaming formats) verses older radios that either can, cannot, or have to have their URL's modified to receive the updated URL's. And everyone using and working on this database is doing a great job in trying to get our radios work like workhorses.

Hi Anthony,

Hello Nobi:

Unfortunately I am not able to check the stream URL's on my radio as I am away for a few days, when I am able to I will check the new streams on my radio. However, I am not able to check the new streams on the website as the volume and play icons on the top right of each station's page on this website is not functioning. Check the web link below for more information:

I changed other radio stations to audio streams via amperwave.net.
I did that again blindly, or rather deaf.
I would like feedback from someone in the US on whether the new radio station records are working.

I have just updated three of the US radio stations by using the given information.
The audio streams are MP3 protocol using non-secure link (http).
I am not able to verify the function.

With an US access (via Tor browser) to the listed streams I have to reduce the browser security. Than the listed stream URLs are working well.
But this is not the area for me to prepare valid and tested radio station records for the LL database.
I have just tested and the working URLs are:

I've tried a few things without success. I get the message from the affected radio stations:

A call to associated audio streams reports to me:

I hope there is someone who can help.
Geographical restrictions are active.
The area seems close enough to touch, but I can't reach it in Germany.

It will probably take a while if I would be able to help here.
Most of the radio station normally show up with "This site isn't currently available in the EU" to me due to geographical restrictions.

Hello. Radio stations owned by Audacy have changed their stream URL's as of late November 2022. Because of this, Audacy owned stations may not be available unless their streams are updated. Among the stations affected are WCBS,WINS (New York);WTIC (Connecticut);and WMJX (Massachusetts). They own about 230 stations in the US. A full listing of the stations is at:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_radio_stations_owned_by_Audacy,_Inc.
